Our Inspiration
We know firsthand what it is like to lose a child to cancer. Our journey in finding treatment to extend our children’s lives is what brought us here today. Our dream is to find solutions for everyone facing the same struggle that we did.
Together with our children, we felt that the best thing we could do with what we have left in our lives is to utilize our experiences and perspectives and put all of our efforts into helping children survive their cancer. We realize that more research and funding are not the only answers but that there are many significant ways to solve this complex puzzle. We have dedicated Solving Kids’ Cancer to managing the full-scope of the problem. As what the medical landscape now labels “informed/active parents,” we went through years of identifying and encountering both the barriers to and promise of improving survivorship for our children. We realize the power in working together and enlisting like-minded scientists and professionals in a focused effort to work simultaneously on multiple fronts to reach this goal. SKC is an organization that owns the problem and works everyday to overcome it by assembling the model, the people, and the therapeutic ideas necessary to offer options so that children can survive the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.
